Running Consolry

A second machine

Run servers on another computer from the same panel.

One panel can manage servers on more than one computer. Each extra computer runs a small program, the daemon, and appears in the panel as a node.

  1. Download consolry-daemon for that computer from the release files.
  2. Start it there. The first time, it prints a token.
  3. In the panel, open Nodes and choose Add another machine. Enter a name, the daemon's address and the token.
  4. When you create a server, choose which node it runs on.

The daemon listens on 127.0.0.1:8750 by default, which only the same computer can reach. To reach it from the panel's computer, start it with -listen and an address on your private network.

The link between the panel and a daemon is not encrypted in this pre-release. Only use it across a network you trust, never across the internet.

Most people do not need this. The panel already runs servers on the computer it is installed on.
